The Amazing Pompier Ladder
Description:
An article about the pompier ladder. The "pompier ladder" (pronounced pom-peer) is probably named for French firefighters known as "Pompier" (pronounced pom-pee-yay). It is reported as "invented" by a St. Louis Lieutenant named Christ Hoell. In some fire departments it was also known as the "Hoell Rescue Device."

Hook Ladder
Description:
An article about the definition of the hook ladder. The hook ladder (also called a pompier ladder) was once a very important tool of the fire department as firefighters could theoretically reach every floor of a building with it. It consists of a simple 2.5-meter ladder with a long, flat hook on its top, with serrations on the underside which gripped the sill.
